Our 1940's Soviet Era reproduced chess pieces are a reproduction of the highly popular club sized Carbolite chess set used in USSR Chess Championship held in Moscow.
As with a lot of other Soviet Chess Sets, this design also has alternating colour tops on the king and the queen.
The pieces have a beautiful design symmetry with the knight uniquely resembling standard staunton pattern chess knights.
If you are looking for a tournament sized chess set with the elegance of Soviet minimalism, this set would make an excellent addition to your chess collection.
